Every review works the same way: answer from memory, reveal the card, and say how it went. Cognito’s scheduler, FSRS, turns that rating into the day the card comes back — tomorrow if it slipped, weeks away if it was easy.

Before you start.
Do I have to choose an exam?
No. Pick “Learn without an exam” during onboarding and study any topic. You can choose or change an exam later in Settings, and existing cards keep working.
Are generated cards guaranteed to match an official syllabus?
No AI system can guarantee that. Cognito uses your exam as context to shape practice, but you should check generated content against your current syllabus and authoritative sources.
What does the free tier actually include?
Unlimited hand-made cards and review, FSRS scheduling, Exam Plans, saved exercises in every format, Anki import, iCloud sync, and 10 AI generation batches per calendar month on each device from topics, pasted text or photos — plus one free try of a Premium source such as a PDF.
Can I use it for medical exams?
Yes — several medical formats are supported. It is a study tool, not clinical decision support, and it is not a place for patient-identifiable information.
Does it work on iPad and Mac?
Yes. Cognito is native on iPhone and iPad (iOS or iPadOS 18 or later) and on Mac (macOS 15 or later), with a companion Apple Watch app for quick reviews. Every version is free to download, iCloud sync keeps one library across them, and one Premium subscription covers iPhone, iPad and Mac. On Mac, AI creates cards from a topic or pasted notes; photos, PDFs and other sources stay on iPhone and iPad.
